 | Perceptual Inclusions
What is it?
It is a demo which shows that human brains are hard-wired to make sense out of complex visual scenes.
How do you play?
Students are shown a series of overheads of various scenes. After they have briefly viewed the entire series they are asked to recreate one of the scenes on a blank piece of paper.
What outcomes can we achieve?
- We can illustrate how powerful perceptual expectancies are.
- We can discuss the ramifications of our findings in the real world, for example, people giving testimony about an incident they have seen.
- It is a neat way to introduce cognitive schemas and scripts.
What is included in the kit?
- 6 black and white transparencies of various scenes
- 1 complete set of classroom instructions
How much does it cost?
The kit costs $ 10.00.
