Assignment Boards
What is it?
Assignment boards are rigid, bright yellow plastic sheets which are 24"x 32"x1/8" thick.
How are they used?
They are placed in the front of the classroom. A grid is permanently marked on the board to accommodate the five days of the week. At the beginning of the week the teacher writes in the menu. Each student is given his own calendar sheet which has room for 6 weeks of schedules. All students copy down the schedule for the week onto their individual calendar sheets.
What is accomplished?
- It forces the teacher to be organized.
- It provides an easy way for the teacher to get the students in the habit of keeping their schedules.
- It frees up the teacher from having to tell returning absentees what was going on while they were gone.
- It provides a handy tool for parents who want to monitor their student's work.
What is included in the kit?
- One 24"x 32"x1/8" assignment board
- With each board, we provide 6 masters so you can duplicate the student menu sheets which will give you enough for the entire school year. At the bottom of each day box a short aphorism is printed, such as: "To have a friend, you need to be one." Some teachers like to use these aphorisms in value clarification activities or as speech or essay starters.
